About the Center for Family and Child Enrichment, Inc.
The Center for Family and Child Enrichment has been enriching the lives of
children and families for over thirty years. During this time, we have calmed the
fears of children who were alone and placed them in loving homes; and counseled and
guided troubled families to become better parents and keep their children out of
state care. With a competent and committed staff, our doors have always been open to
families and children in need, no matter how challenging the problems.
What do we do and how do we do it? The Center for Family and Child Enrichment is a
private, nonprofit, community-based organization that serves children in foster care
who have been abused, neglected and/or abandoned; children with severe emotional
disturbances and in need of mental health care; children in the custody of parents or
relatives who are chronic runaways and/or are ungovernable; and children who come to
this country without parents or guardians (unaccompanied minors). Our mission is to
enrich, strengthen, preserve, restore, and empower children and families in a
culturally diverse community.
Each year, our services touch the lives of over 3,000 children and families
throughout Miami-Dade County. We contract with the lead agency for community-based
care to provide foster care and related services to nearly 1,000 children, including
adoptions, residential group care, in-home family counseling, and a variety of other
services designed to achieve permanency for these children. We offer a wide array of
behavioral health services for children and adolescents.
The Center for Family and Child Enrichment is committed to making a difference in the
life of a child. We do this through three primary focus areas: counseling and therapy
services; foster care and adoptions; and family and community support programs. We
invite you to explore each of these areas with us.
